Day 23 – A book you wanted to read for a long time but still haven’t.
I don’t have an answer to this question. Well, actually, I do; but it’s not the “correct” answer—if there is such a thing in a meme.
While there isn’t a book that I’ve longed to read for “a long time” (and who decides how long a long time is, anyhow?), I do have this “read someday” list. It covers everything from mysteries, to historical fiction (and there might be hysterical fiction in there too), thrillers, humor, and just plain ol’ fiction; over to non-fiction drama’s, biographies, and … ta-da … cookbooks.
Among the books now sitting in Amazon’s cloud waiting for me to download them to my Kindle, these are on my hope to read this year list:
- The Last Empress: A Novel (Empress Orchid) by Anchee Min
- Irish Soda Bread by Maggie O’Farrell
- Legacy: The Acclaimed Novel of Elizabeth… by Susan Kay
- Turning the Tide: How a Small Band of Allied Sailors… by Ed Offley
- Kill Shot (Mitch Rapp series) by Vince Flynn
Then there are all the books in the Judge Dee series, plus the balance of the Nero Wolfe series, and some in the Bernie Rhodenbarr series, the Sue Grafton alphabet series—all of which I’ll get from the library for my Kindle. I’d like to read another in the Wilderness series by Sara Donati. Of course, if I don’t get to any of these, I know I’ll be reading other books and likely won’t miss these.
That’s what I mean, I have so many books and none that I’m just dying to read, so I can’t possibly have a book that I’ve been waiting to read for a long time.
