Day 17 – Favorite quote from your favorite book
Too many favorites for me. HA! This isn’t from my favorite book, but it’s one of my favorite quotes from a book. I read this book last year and found it irreverent at times, but also delightful. Many of her comments are right on the money – especially this one on growing older, from “If You Ask Me: (And of Course, You Won’t)” by Betty White:
“It’s not a surprise, we knew it was coming—make the most of it.”
Personally, I think this is a good way to look at life. You can’t stop aging, but you can learn to look at the glass half-full, find the good in things, look on the sunny side, whatever you want to call it … every day is a gift to each of us and shame on us if we don’t make the most of the time we have. Along the same line, I like what the Bible has to say on aging:
Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness. (NIV)
So here’s to all my Q-Tip friends—may you make the most of each day!
